Project Highlights

When it came to making special touches and room for 5 kids – this home has a few subtle highlights.

Fitting 5 kids and their friends around an island is no easy task. Having enough storage without having a huge pantry was also a problem needing solved. So the result was an island that seats 10, adjacent to a dining room nook that easily seats 10 more – with cabinets under both sides of the island.

Adding a glass door to the 5 x 5 pantry allows natural light to flow in – with a sink and high shelves, there’s a surprisingly spacious place for all those extras that need to stay just out of sight… but in reach of the kitchen.

Adding a tabletop over the washer and dryer makes a great folding table, with built-in cabinets for dirty clothes or cleaning supplies. On the opposite wall is a window bench and storage for shoes and gloves and hats and accessories.

With three built-in nooks for beds, this room makes surprising use of space and allows for three boys to share a room – with plenty of closet space for the clothes and gear.

Have a question for Trevor?

In their own words

Amazed and still taking it in.

Trevor and his team exceeded our expectations – from the first conversation to the finishing touches on our home. As first time home builders, we were not sure of what to expect and needed a lot of questions answered along the way. Ironstone had great ideas, great patience, led us step by step, and the results are a dream come true.

Each time we met with Trevor to go over plans and ideas, he welcomed all our kids along for the adventure. I can’t believe how quickly they got things done. Every person I met along the way – electricians, framers, drywallers, installers, painters etc – was kind, friendly, helpful, and made it easy for us to trust the outcome.

Trevor always says “I want to make sure you get what you want – and that you are happy with the outcome.” and he really meant it. We went through many design changes and tweaks and he was patient and helpful.

I can’t say enough about how grateful I am for Trevor and Ironstone Homes for putting my family in our first custom built home.

I know there were other projects going on, but I felt like we were the only one Trevor was working on due to his attention and responsiveness. I would build with them again… but for now, we plan on growing old in this one!
